This widget allows you to link any area of your campaign to a website. Hotspots are a dynamic alternative to standard image and text links. You can link your whole campaign with one giant Hotspot or you can link multiple objects within a single image with several smaller Hotspots.
For instance, you might have an image of the United States where you want each state to link to specific information about that state, or you might want some added flexibility when linking products in text.
Whatever your case may be, the Hotspot widget gives you more control and will make sure you are pointing your fans in the right direction – just follow the five easy steps below to add one to your campaign!
Make sure that you:
Step 1: Drag and drop the Hotspot widget anywhere on your campaign canvas; this will create a flexible widget-box that you can move around.
Note: Once you’ve placed your widget, some options will appear in the right-side toolbar. If you don’t see these options, just click on your Hotspot widget to bring them up. You can also size your widget by dragging its bottom-right corner, or delete it with the upper-right ‘X’ button.
Pro Tip: Below, I’ve linked the entire top-right corner surrounding my “Garth’s Gears” logo; most users expect logos to be linked and I’ve ensured that they can’t miss this one by increasing the click-able real-estate around it with the Hotspot!
Step 2: Provide a link for your Hotspot widget by pasting a URL in the field provided – go ahead and link it to anything you like!
Step 3: Click on the “Link Target” drop-down menu and select whether or not you want your link to open in a new window.
Pro Tip: Choose “New Window,” to keep your campaign page open while fans check out your link. Choose “Same Window,” if you don’t mind the link replacing your page as this is a little bit faster and more convenient.
Step 4: Click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the toolbar.
One last note: If you ever need to make changes to your Hotspot, don’t worry! You can always come back to manage your widget simply by clicking on it!
