Have you ever been disappointed with the way your campaign’s Link Share looks? You’d think Facebook was choosing the worst image and text possible just to spite you! Well, say goodbye to that disappointment – you now have full control over your campaign’s Link Share.
Pro-tip: 1200 x 628 is the optimal image size for a Facebook Link Share image. (484 x 252 will also work just fine)
You can control this by specifically telling Facebook what to share with your Page Share Metadata. Your Page Share Metadata is the information that Facebook pulls from your campaign to create a Link Share – that information includes a title, a description, and an image. To customize these options, just follow the steps below.
To get started, go to your Heyo dashboard and click on the campaign you want to edit.
Once you are in the campaign editor, click the “Options” tab at the top of the right-side toolbar.
Then click the “Page Share Metadata” menu bar, which will drop down and reveal your customization options.
Before we go further, let’s take a look at what exactly you’ll be customizing. The following image shows a Link Share with the corresponding options that can be customized (numbered by the order they appear in the toolbar.)
1) Enter a title in the field provided. This should be something catchy with a call to action.
2) Enter a description. Here you can overview your business, campaign, or whatever you feel is important.
3) Upload an image from your computer by hitting the “Browse” button, or enter the URL of an image and hit the “Import Image URL” button. Don’t just upload any old image – make sure it’s around 484 x 252px (1200 x 628 optimal) and make sure it will catch some eyes!

If you still need to do some work on your campaign, click the “Content” tab just to the left of the “Options” tab. If you’re ready to finalize and publish your campaign, hit the orange “Save and Preview” button at the bottom of the toolbar.
That’s all there is to it! You can rest assured that your campaign is getting the attention it deserves with a proper Link Share.
Facebook scrapes your campaign meta data once every 24 hours. This means that if you have already published your campaign – Facebook may not immediately reflect the recent update you’ve made to your meta data (it will still show your old title, image, and description). However, you can force Facebook to update your campaign’s meta data by going to the following link and pasting your Smart URL in the field provided —> FACEBOOK DEBUGGER
Hit the “Debug” button and the page will populate with your campaigns meta data. Then hit “Fetch new scrape information” and this will force Facebook to pull in your new, updated information. Now, when you go to paste your Smart URL as a status update, you should see your new Campaign Title, Image, and Description!
